How is your own life going?

Watch the video below “How to Stand Out in Your Industry”

If you’re creative at work and an inspirational speaker then I have selected this short video that I hope you will find interesting. Video by Simon Sinek.

Are you fullfillied by the work you do?

There are some people who seek pleasure at someone elseโ€™s expense. They think they get happiness from mistreating others. Follow your own path in life and live your unique path.

I love articles and learning around wisdom and emotional intelligence. When I’m in a state of flow, like being in a river, the flow of water pushes you away. I am focused. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Teaching for long-term memory is not information it’s inspiration. For example, it is not easy to cramm for an exam. “Our curriculum and assessments are not designed with working memory in mind.” Our brains have limited space. If students can’t remember what they’ve learnt, the system is failing them.

We need an education system based on the study by Joe Kirby.

Having just one study session, followed by three short testing sessions โ€“ and then a final assessment โ€“  will out perform any other pattern. Who would have thought? Article by Joe Kirby

You can’t be a great teacher if you stop being a student. Sometimes, you can learn best by teaching. Patience is a virtue. You can only achieve perfection or get close to it by practicing.

Are you unhappy?

Economics is everywhere, and understanding economics can help you make better decisions and lead a happier life.

Creating Pathways to Better Communication ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’œ

Could you please explain it to me in more simple terms?

Be none the wiser – Video by Simon Sinek

Reading is the key to understanding our world. I am not here to change the system, I’m here to change our approaches. Change the people, and you change the system. We are in this together. The future is up to us.

โ€œThe world hates change, yet it is the only thing that has brought progress.โ€

Charles Ketteringย

Lisa Ower mentions in her article hereย  ‘No matter what the change is, big or small, it must be able to link to your culture, overall purpose and vision of the company. Even if management views the change as beneficial, if your employees canโ€™t link the change to the existing culture or organizational purpose, it will be difficult for them to carry out these transformations.’

Questions to Ask Yourself

  • How do I think?
  • How are humans are wired?
  • How to change my mindset?
  • What does success look like to me?
  • How does the human brain react?
  • What’s in it for me?
  • Ways to understand my behaviour?

For me change is good change, change is hard. It is part of the human experience. I found change difficult and I felt insecure about myself, but it was worth it.

I made the toughest decision to close my struggling business and lost my home nine years ago. My family fell apart and as a mum I struggled through the hard times, putting myself in a difficult situation. It’s taken a lot of mental clarity to help me find my focus and direction, it forced me to go to the next level. I went through a very emotional journey, me against the world. Sometimes you need to do you and take a step back to live a peaceful and authentic life. Show up and love them hard, only then will you realise what’s important.

โ€œIn order to change the world, you have to get your head together first.โ€

Jimi Hendrixย

Eventually, realised I needed to take responsibility for my life and my happiness. Happiness is a choice. I had to put myself first before supporting my children’s mental health. Happy mum, happy child. It improved my confidence and well-being. My life andย  motherhoodย  has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows but never boring. Helping my children was a great way to help myself.

What’s your culture, purpose and vision?

I’ve learned through my journey that doing too much for your kids is not an effective parenting strategy.

โ€œVery often a change of self is needed more than a change.”

Stay Neutral with News – Solving Real World Problems ๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒท

“If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.” “Double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket.” – Quote by Will Rogers

The bottom line is that we need to cut out all superfluous details and focus on the primary problem. We need to stop selling out to short term profit and one’s personal interest or advantage, especially when pursued without regard for others. Self-interest is selfish and has bad intentions.

There is no need to prove your worthiness and pretend to be someone you’re not. In the end, the pressure to impress people only hurts the people you love most. Speaking to a mental health professional can help you sort out your pain.

There’s always more than one solution to a problem. Spending more money than necessary to fix the original problem, it’s a no brainer. ‘Make time and ‘invest in the right resources’ there is no quick fix only more problems – Click here to read more on ‘Throwing money at a problem

A quote you may have heard “put your own oxygen mask on first, before helping others’. Your mental health is a priority. After birth, responsibility starts.

“People want to share information that is newsworthy – in some sense the truth value is less of a concern,” – says Psychology Prof Geoffrey Beattie from Edge Hill University in Lancashire.

He continues to say “The point about gossip is, the best gossip is juicy gossip – the last thing people are worried about is whether it is true or not.

Everyone takes time to recover from life traumas, whether it’s a mental illness or a physical illness, we need to take care of it. It can affect children and adults at any given time and does not discriminate.

There are plenty of credible videos out there interviewing celebrities. I have posted a YouTube video below of Halsey’s interview. Try checking out her journey and then list videos you know that are credible.

“If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.”
Once Upon A time……

The proverbial saying ‘bad news travels fast’ can be taken literally. In a wider sense it is a comment on human nature being more interested in failure than success.” – quoted here

Happiness is a Journey, not a Destination ๐Ÿ˜„

Happiness is a cup of coffee
In the words of Aristotle: โ€œHappiness depends on ourselves.โ€

More on Happiness! Continue reading here
โ€œHappiness is not determined by whatโ€™s happening around you, but rather whatโ€™s happening inside you. Most people depend on others to gain happiness, but the truth is, it always comes from within.โ€ – Anonymous
Happiness is not the absence of problems; itโ€™s the ability to deal with them.โ€ โ€• Steve Maraboli
“happiness is to be found along the way not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it’s too late.” – Robert Updegraff
There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet. โ€“ William Frederick Halsey, Jr.
โ€œEven a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word โ€˜happyโ€™ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. โ€ โ€” Carl Jung
“Happiness is having a sense of meaning and purpose.”
“Everybody’s rooting for you to fail. That’s what makes it fun.” – Jocelyn Dashwood

I hope I have been of some help and have it make some difference to understanding ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’ and the science behind it. Happiness increases feelings of well-being, confidence and belonging.

Combat Control: We Always Have Fear When Facing the Unknown

Business leaders need to have the courage, the strength, the resilience to bounce back from Covid-19.

Gobal leaders need to be motivated by the job itself to do a good job; their first priority in business is to act on humanity and the second priority is to make money.

Larry Bird quoted – “Don’t let winning make you soft. Don’t let losing make you quiet. Don’t let your teammates down in any situation.”

Our world is changing and Covid-19 and other chronic diseases will impact our lives forever. Covid-19 is like another disease and are rising in numbers. It is caused by what we do to the environment; driven by today’s lifestyle. We need to rise together to protect life on earth from destruction, global pandemics, deforestation, bad governance, corruption, nuclear war, political and economic systems.

I am optimistic that social and behavioural changes will come from this.
