Reading is the key to understanding our world. I am not here to change the system, I’m here to change our approaches. Change the people, and you change the system. We are in this together. The future is up to us.
โThe world hates change, yet it is the only thing that has brought progress.โ
Charles Kettering
Lisa Ower mentions in her article here ‘No matter what the change is, big or small, it must be able to link to your culture, overall purpose and vision of the company. Even if management views the change as beneficial, if your employees canโt link the change to the existing culture or organizational purpose, it will be difficult for them to carry out these transformations.’
Questions to Ask Yourself
How do I think?
How are humans are wired?
How to change my mindset?
What does success look like to me?
How does the human brain react?
What’s in it for me?
Ways to understand my behaviour?
For me change is good change, change is hard. It is part of the human experience. I found change difficult and I felt insecure about myself, but it was worth it.
I made the toughest decision to close my struggling business and lost my home nine years ago. My family fell apart and as a mum I struggled through the hard times, putting myself in a difficult situation. It’s taken a lot of mental clarity to help me find my focus and direction, it forced me to go to the next level. I went through a very emotional journey, me against the world. Sometimes you need to do you and take a step back to live a peaceful and authentic life. Show up and love them hard, only then will you realise what’s important.
โIn order to change the world, you have to get your head together first.โ
Jimi Hendrix
Eventually, realised I needed to take responsibility for mylife and myhappiness. Happiness is a choice. I had to put myself first before supporting my children’s mental health. Happy mum, happy child. It improved my confidence and well-being. My life and motherhood has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows but never boring. Helping my children was a great way to help myself.
What’s your culture, purpose and vision?
I’ve learned through my journey that doing too much for your kids is not an effective parenting strategy.
โVery often a change of self is needed more than a change.”
“If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.” “Double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket.” – Quote by Will Rogers
The bottom line is that we need to cut out all superfluous details and focus on the primary problem. We need to stop selling out to short term profit and one’s personal interest or advantage, especially when pursued without regard for others. Self-interest is selfish and has bad intentions.
There is no need to prove your worthiness and pretend to be someone you’re not. In the end, the pressure to impress people only hurts the people you love most. Speaking to a mental health professional can help you sort out your pain.
There’s always more than one solution to a problem. Spending more money than necessary to fix the original problem, it’s a no brainer. ‘Maketime‘ and ‘invest in the right resources’ there is no quick fix only more problems – Click here to read more on ‘Throwing money at a problem‘
A quote you may have heard “put your own oxygen mask on first, before helping others’. Your mental health is a priority. After birth, responsibility starts.
“People want to share information that is newsworthy – in some sense the truth value is less of a concern,” – says Psychology Prof Geoffrey Beattie from Edge Hill University in Lancashire.
He continues to say “The point about gossip is, the best gossip is juicy gossip – the last thing people are worried about is whether it is true or not.
Everyone takes time to recover from life traumas, whether it’s a mental illness or a physical illness, we need to take care of it. It can affect children and adults at any given time and does not discriminate.
There are plenty of credible videos out there interviewing celebrities. I have posted a YouTube video below of Halsey’s interview. Try checking out her journey and then list videos you know that are credible.

Once Upon A time……
The proverbial saying ‘bad news travels fast’ can be taken literally. In a wider sense it is a comment on human nature being more interested in failure than success.” – quoted here
