World Hunger – Global Problem💙

This is a global problem, what are they and what can you do to help?

Causes of hunger are; war & conflict, climate change, food waste, poor water & sanitation, gender inequality, government systems, natural disasters, etc….

If we are going to fight world hunger then one solution that needs to be re-evaluated is Social Change in a time of Covid-19 because it’s now reaching countries most vulnerable to the health and well-being.

This is a global problem and to end world hunger by 2030 ‘The Borgen Project’ has identified these ten sustainable solutions to inspire people and communities to think differently, bring positive changes, eliminate suffering in the world and save lives.

To move to a more sustainable world read ’10 Ways to Stop World Hunger’ which covers all aspects of supporting this 2020 Health Initiative and 12 Ways to Live More sustainably.

The first essential component of social justice is adequate food for all mankind. Food is the moral right of all who are born into this world.” – Norman Borlaug, biologist and humanitarian.

Shape the Future Generation💜

You are a Priority, not an Afterthought

Domestic abuse is a significant problem in the UK. Why is this? This is because what we are seeing is fundamentally a lack in positive culture, a freedom to oneself. We need to see a change in behaviour because it plays an important role in people’ mental health.

Anyone can be a victim of domestic violence and abuse, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, sexuality or background. Domestic and family violence is a crime. Deliberately hurting and being cruel is an act of violence against humanity.

*In the year ending March 2019, 1.6 million women experienced domestic abuse

*Office for National Statistics (2019) Domestic abuse victim characteristics, England and Wales: year ending March 2019

**Almost one in three women aged 16-59 will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.

We Thank You For Your Support 🦋

After a long hard think, and after making a really difficult decision I have decided to let people know what’s been going on.

As some of you may be aware my son has Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as traits of Autism, along with my non-visible disabilities we were struggling to keep our heads above water and overwhelmed by difficulties. Eventually I had to leave my job to become a full time carer for him as neither of us were coping in the situation we were in.

To help myself cope with the drastic change I started writing/creating music in awareness of mental health and how the pandemic has majorly affected not just my mental health, but so many others around us.

Please listen and enjoy this music I have created for anyone and everyone to listen too, to try and help others that are going through a similar situation. Thank you for all your support-it means a lot.

ADHD Nervous System – Strength Based Model ♥️

The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. One in seven of the world’s population suffer from neurological conditions with over 600 types, including; Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) should be renamed ‘Inconsistent Attention & Internal Hyperactivity’ (IAIH).

Why? ‘Because it is not a decifit of attention, but rather a problem with regulating one’s attention span to desired tasks.’ – Healthline.com

ADHD: Below is a list of some of the enhanced qualities and abilities that exceed those naturally found in non-neurotypical people and some famous celebrities including; Michael Jordan, Jamie Oilver, Will.i.am, Emma Watson, Bill Gates, Paris Hilton & Albert Einstein.

How is your own life going?

If you’re creative at work and an inspirational speaker then I have selected this short video that I hope you will find interesting. Video by Simon Sinek.

Are you fullfillied by the work you do?

There are some people who seek pleasure at someone else’s expense. They think they get happiness from mistreating others. Follow your own path in life and live your unique path.

I love articles and learning around wisdom and emotional intelligence. When I’m in a state of flow, like being in a river, the flow of water pushes you away. I am focused. 😊

Teaching for long-term memory is not information it’s inspiration. For example, it is not easy to cramm for an exam. “Our curriculum and assessments are not designed with working memory in mind.” Our brains have limited space. If students can’t remember what they’ve learnt, the system is failing them.

We need an education system based on the study by Joe Kirby.

Having just one study session, followed by three short testing sessions – and then a final assessment –  will out perform any other pattern. Who would have thought? Article by Joe Kirby

You can’t be a great teacher if you stop being a student. Sometimes, you can learn best by teaching. Patience is a virtue. You can only achieve perfection or get close to it by practicing.

Creating Pathways to Better Communication 😀💜

Could you please explain it to me in more simple terms?

Be none the wiser – Video by Simon Sinek

Reading is the key to understanding our world. I am not here to change the system, I’m here to change our approaches. Change the people, and you change the system. We are in this together. The future is up to us.

“The world hates change, yet it is the only thing that has brought progress.”

Charles Kettering

Lisa Ower mentions in her article here  ‘No matter what the change is, big or small, it must be able to link to your culture, overall purpose and vision of the company. Even if management views the change as beneficial, if your employees can’t link the change to the existing culture or organizational purpose, it will be difficult for them to carry out these transformations.’

Questions to Ask Yourself

  • How do I think?
  • How are humans are wired?
  • How to change my mindset?
  • What does success look like to me?
  • How does the human brain react?
  • What’s in it for me?
  • Ways to understand my behaviour?

For me change is good change, change is hard. It is part of the human experience. I found change difficult and I felt insecure about myself, but it was worth it.

I made the toughest decision to close my struggling business and lost my home nine years ago. My family fell apart and as a mum I struggled through the hard times, putting myself in a difficult situation. It’s taken a lot of mental clarity to help me find my focus and direction, it forced me to go to the next level. I went through a very emotional journey, me against the world. Sometimes you need to do you and take a step back to live a peaceful and authentic life. Show up and love them hard, only then will you realise what’s important.

“In order to change the world, you have to get your head together first.”

Jimi Hendrix

Eventually, realised I needed to take responsibility for my life and my happiness. Happiness is a choice. I had to put myself first before supporting my children’s mental health. Happy mum, happy child. It improved my confidence and well-being. My life and  motherhood  has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows but never boring. Helping my children was a great way to help myself.

What’s your culture, purpose and vision?

I’ve learned through my journey that doing too much for your kids is not an effective parenting strategy.

“Very often a change of self is needed more than a change.”
